Which IRS paperwork do I need?

Start with the event or task, not a form number. This page routes common specialized IRS paperwork questions to either a browser-local draft PDF workflow or an education-only guide. It does not decide a tax position, filing strategy, entity choice, authority question, or refund dispute for you.

Public preview boundary: final filing packets, payment, professional review, IRS submission, mailing services, transcript handling, identity-document handling, notice uploads, and support intake of tax facts are disabled.

I made or need to report a gift

Start with Form 709 if the gift was already made and the facts are inside the supported scope. Use Form 8892 only for extension/payment-voucher mechanics when you already know the filing path.

I changed an address or responsible party

Use Form 8822 for individual IRS address changes. Use Form 8822-B for business/entity address or responsible-party changes. These workflows do not update state agencies, banks, payroll providers, or IRS online accounts.

I already chose an entity tax election

Use Form 2553 or Form 8832 only after the S corporation or entity classification decision is made outside the software. Tax Paperwork does not tell you which entity tax status to choose.

I need an EIN, residency certificate, or fiduciary notice

Use the draft workflows only when the underlying facts are already known: why the EIN is needed, what residency certificate is being requested, or what fiduciary authority exists.

Education only

I need transcript, ITIN, refund, penalty, or identity-theft help

These areas often involve transcript privacy, identity documents, notices, IRS account facts, dispute strategy, or fraud-risk facts. Tax Paperwork currently provides education-only routing and does not collect documents or generate packets for these topics.
